From the 2011 Poetry Out Loud Central Minnesota Regional Competition. The two Morris representatives placed first (Thomas McPhee) and third (Yasha Hoffman) out of the ten participants. Second place was Madeline Franz of St. John's Prep.

Thomas and Madeline will go on to the state competition in the Fitzgerald Theatre, Monday, 7 March. Congratulations and good luck!


This is the 10 participants while Yasha is being awarded third place by the emcee, Eleanor Leonard of the Minnesota State Arts Board. The participants (l to r): Dana Speer and Collin Teich (Underwood High School), Madeline Franz and Rebecca Hare (St. John's Prepartory School), Thomas McPhee (Morris Area High School), Christopher Haughdahl and Jessica Borchardt (Henning High School), and Ahna Van Valkenburg and Emily Hexum (Fergus Falls High School).
