While this takes some imagination and is a difficult task, the best advice that i can think of is:

1 - Try to think of your character in geometric shapes. You should think of your characters body parts as geometric tubes spheres and cubes. This might allow you to move them in "space" to fit the new viewpoint you are using. Such as thinking of the head as a simple cube and arms as cylinders. it is best to work from a simple form to a more complex shape.

2. - try to think of the negative space around the characters as simple shapes. Such as the triangle that forms from a characters standing on two legs that are touching the ground.. or when the hand is placed on the hip. Think of that triangle of negative space from a new angle. How would that triangle look if you rotated it in 3D space.

3. tracing paper might be helpful in keeping proportions from one picture to another.

4. anchors. where hands feet and objects connect to the body and ground might be helpful in keeping consistency between pictures.
